Position Overview: Campaign and Communications Officer
The Campaign and Communications Officer of ELA – for the People and the Planet will play a central role in delivering a dynamic, year-long European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) campaign calling for Justice for Palestine. The job holder will support national teams and ensure consistent, high-quality communication across all channels.
Working closely with the Programme and Communications Lead, the ELA member parties, and with the campaign country coordinators, the Officer will produce compelling content for social media, website and campaign emails, and support coordination with country coordinators and national teams.
The role involves strengthening the campaign visibility through digital and traditional media, supporting the organisation of events at both national and European level, and enabling mobilisation efforts.
This position is ideal for a proactive communicator and campaigner who enjoys collaborative, fast-paced, and impact-driven work.
Requirements
- At least two years of relevant professional experience, preferably in communications, campaigning, or political organising.
- Familiarity with the EU policy landscape and a strong interest in European politics and progressive movements.
- Proven experience in managing social media channels, producing digital content, and supporting online engagement.
- Ability to update and manage websites, and to draft and send campaign emails or newsletters.
- Strong commitment to, and alignment with, ELA’s values of solidarity, equality, social justice, and democratic participation.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign coordination
- Support national teams with toolkits, templates, media packs, and other support.
- Day-to-day coordination with an external creative agency.
- Moderate a WhatsApp group with the national campaign coordinators.
- Schedule recurring meetings with national campaign coordinators.
- Manage shared campaign drive with national campaign coordinators.
Content creation
- Develop a monthly editorial calendar.
- Identify opportunities for content.
- Develop social media content in coordination with national teams and external agency.
- Create templates /kits for mobilisation actions.
- Produce campaign emails/ newsletters in coordination with national teams.
- Update the website with news and opinions.
- Update media kit, and produce new media kits.
Events
- Support national campaign coordinators and their teams in organising events and activities at the national level.
- Organise the closing event.
- Monitoring & evaluation oversight.
- Support in developing a campaign-wide reporting dashboard.

Other
- Undertake additional tasks as needed to support the wider ELA team.
